Product Release | 06.17.19

We are excited to release new features for both our HRIS and Benefits Administration modules. Additionally, we have made a few enhancements for our Broker partners in our latest product release. Please read on to find out more and as always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions.


Billing Reconciliation Report (Admin/Broker View)

Flock now makes it easier to track monthly reconciliation of carrier invoices with a new report: Billing Reconciliation. This report generates a cost breakdown by the plan, tier, volume, and age-bad, depending on the plan specifications. It will also account for credits/debits that need to be adjusted for retro additions and terminations. This report also supports all the standard carrier wash cycle rules so it takes the hassle of those mid-month effective dates.

Note: You can find this under the Reporting Section > Benefits Reports > Billing Reconciliation.

Task Reports (Admin View)

This HRIS report provides a summary and status of Tasks created within the selected date range.

Note: You can find this under the reports tab > HRIS Reports > Pre-defined reports; as you can see in the below screenshot.

Adding Date Range to Time-off Reports (Admin View)

We have made tracking the employee time-off easier for you. This report show you employee time off balances, hours taken and accrued for each policy type within the selected date range. For instance, if you run a report for 8/1 - 8/15 the report will only display hours taken/requested within that range. Updating payroll is so much simpler.

Goals Status Reports (Admin View)

This report is exclusive for groups that have requested to enable the Goals module. This report gives you details on the number of goals created, the status of the goals, goal creation date and so on. It is helpful for you to track the current progress of your employee goals all in one downloadable spreadsheet.

This feature update is helpful for Admins to verify and edit the changes made by the employees at the time of a life event before approving (or rejecting) them. It often occurs that the employees enter incorrect life event dates while going through the enrollment flow, and in order to solve this in one flow we have come up with this update. Once the Admin has made the required changes and approved the Life Event, the employee will get an email notification from Flock highlighting the changes.

Prior to this release, if a group had different contribution schemes for the same plan the system required you to build and maintain duplicate, mirror plans. With this release, you now have the ability to add more than one contribution scheme within the plan build, reducing the need for multiple plans. By requiring fewer plans, Flock has reduced the time required to implement and build renewal options. This also make it a lot easier to administer the groups benefit plans.

Eligibility Knockout Questions

Flock now allows additional enrollment criteria based on age, salary, or an eligibility question of your making. This criterion are built directly into the plan and can qualify an employee for a plan without having to create and manage separate, often confusing eligibility groups. This will help with determining the eligibility based on an employee response as well as improve implementation times and reduce eligibility tracking overhead by requiring fewer product plans.

Dependent age-out for voluntary plans

Formerly, automatic system age-out logic was only available for medical, dental, and vision. With this release, we have extended this logic to all supplemental plans. This means no more life events are required to remove dependents from coverage.

Gender Based Medical Rates

For some regions, gender-based rates are required for medical plans and supplemental plans. Flock now supports this rate structure for age-based rated plans.

Issue Age Plans Support (Transamerica)

Flock now supports Transamerica Universal Life plans. These plans differ from other carrier life plans in the following ways:

  • Rates are based on issued age rather than attained age.
  • Rate structure is not fixed across all offered volume amounts. Instead, each volume has a distinct rate structure.
  • Grandchildren are eligible to enroll.
  • Disabled children/grandchildren are not eligible.
  • Eligibility of volume amounts is based on the age of the enrollee.

This new support allows for supporting plans that need any combination of the above requirements.
