Flock’s brand new Billing Suite helps you get all your ducks in a row with concise reporting that puts all your crucial billing information in one place.
Our Billing Suite allows an effortless generation of your monthly billing statements for the purposes of self-billing, list-billing, or billing reconciliation—for your whole company, as well as across multiple companies. Some key benefits include:
The ability to generate billing statements on a fixed monthly schedule, with configurations to bill prior, current or future months. There’s no more need to outline a monthly range when running each separate billing period.
Any credit, debit, and retro changes for late hires and terms between billing periods are now automatically captured by Flock. Gone is the hassle of digging through previous reports for credits, debits, and retro changes which were captured in previous bills.
Flock now automatically accounts for future billing changes as a result of salary changes, age tier changes, and age reduction changes.
A complete history of your previous billing statements is now easily accessible in a slick dashboard designed for ease of employer tracking and record keeping.
Getting your reports ready to share with your insurance carrier and clients is now a breeze. Our billing reports are lightning-fast. And since the reports are pre-computed and built to your specifications, there’s no need to jump in and customize them for billing locations, etc. You can select the fields to include in the report each time to suit carrier and client needs—by location, eligibility, and more:

Your employees are feathering their nests in anticipation of a rainy day, and our new configuration enhancements help you better manage your team members’ FSA and HSA enrollments. Some key benefits of these enhancements include:
Within the Plan Design tab, employers can choose from several contribution schemes across the year to help prorate their contributions for mid-year enrollments:
Employees can elect how they want to contribute to these benefits, either annually or by deduction. This new setup will help your employees better understand exactly how much money they are putting aside with each paycheck:
We’ve also added the capability to give your employees a more tailored enrollment experience based on your plan offerings. You can now build one of each plan type, two of each plan type, or whatever combination fits your needs. The new plan configuration rules allow you to build an HRA alongside an HSA, and then bundle the respective plans to your medical plan of choice. This allows employers to manage different contributions based on the medical plan offerings. For clients who expressed interest in offering separate HSA plans tied to individual HDHP plans, this update has been made especially for you.
Trying to determine how much has already been deducted from an employee’s paycheck in order to calculate mid-year HSA and FSA elections can be notoriously tricky. We have engineered more system intelligence to ensure employee deductions are as accurate as possible. For an optimal experience, you’ll definitely want to add your payroll calendar:
You’ll be able to apply an existing payroll calendar at the individual plan level if you have different deduction cycles for different plans. To get a payroll calendar added to one of your benefits, please contact your Broker or our incredible support team at email@example.com.
Support for the new HSA/FSA plan updates above will be available for any newly built plans and for existing clients going through renewal. These changes will not affect currently active plans.
BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION ENHANCEMENTS
Flock has made several updates to our benefits administration experience. Our upgrades to the plan configuration setup, age reduction notifications, and our increased support for compensation-based benefits are all designed to prevent you and your employees from counting your chickens before they’ve hatched.
Age Reduction Notifications & Enhancements: Flock will inform the employee and admin of upcoming employee/spouse age reductions and dependent age-outs in employee elections weeks ahead of time. These changes will also be auto-applied well in advance to account for any billing or payroll changes.
We’ve added a drop-down menu within each plan configuration in order to give you more flexibility in the calculation of benefits. You can now choose to calculate your volume-based benefits based on your employees’ salaries or their benefit compensation. Flock will default to benefit compensation for the calculation, but if there is no benefit compensation loaded in Flock, the system will use the employee's annual salary—we’ll remind you of this detail within the platform.
We are also now automatically capturing updates to benefit amounts for salary-based plans. If an employee gets a salary increase either in the future or past, Flock will instantly recalculate their benefit amounts and effective dates.
PLATFORM AND INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES
The platform and infrastructure updates ensure Flock continues to deliver a superior product experience while still placing prime importance on the safety of your data. What are the main advantages of the latest platform upgrade, you ask?
Security - Flock continues to keep data security our top-most priority. We’ve taken advantage of the power of a large open-source developer community which allows us to immediately integrate the most up-to-date security patches. That means our team can focus on providing valued functionality to our users, and you don’t have to worry about a fox getting into the henhouse.
Functionality - Our platform is now even more robust. With these changes, you’ll see faster product iterations and a greater velocity in our development process. Faster and more efficient development cycles mean we can address your needs with a new, falcon-like speed.
Performance - This upgrade lets us gracefully scale with our users, like other large enterprises such as Shopify, Airbnb and Github. With this added performance capability, you’ll see faster processing times when loading the site and managing your data, as well as improvements in user request response times.
We’ve made our ADP RUN integration even better by incorporating much more bi-directional data exchange support. Hires and terms recorded in ADP can now be synced up to your records in Flock. Regardless of which system you use for your employee hires and terms, Flock has you covered.
And we’ve given the integration even more flexibility. In the Settings tab of the Payroll section, you can choose exactly which information you want to sync with ADP—not only new hires and terms, but also demographic information updates. If the data between systems is mismatched for some reason, we’ll let the admin know which details need to be clarified within their Notifications tab:
Birds of a feather flock together, and we know that connectivity with all our employer systems is key to the happiness of our company admins. With our API connections, we have built powerful bridges of communication with numerous payroll systems, as well as connectivity with benefits concierge services provided by some of our broker partners.
With this set of updates, we can more seamlessly perform additional employee life cycle operations like rehires and terms. We can pull more granular deduction information such as contribution breakdowns by employee, spouse and child. We’re able to track deduction changes across an entire company along with employee benefit election information. Additionally, our users with API access can now create and update plan offerings without having to use the Flock UI.
