We are excited to release new features for both our HRIS and Benefits Administration modules. Additionally, we have made a few enhancements for our Broker partners in our latest product release. Please read on to find out more and as always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions.
Note: These feature updates will be live on the Flock App starting from 8/26/2019.
Navigating health insurance plans can be tricky. With open enrollment around the corner, it is essential for employees to analyze and make sure which benefits effectively fit their needs. We have gone a step ahead; employees can now compare different plans within their enrollment flow itself. Just a few clicks and they can easily understand which plans are the best fit.
Where can employees see this? The compare plan feature will be seen when an employee goes through the enrollment flow > “Compare Plan” button will be available on top of each plan section.
See below Flock product illustration of the Plan comparison feature:
You can now change the order of the different plan types and change the order of how they appear in the employee enrollment flow. This feature not only enables you to change the order/sequence of the plan types but also that of the plan Sub-types. For instance you can order Supplemental Insurance plans like Life, Critical Care, and Accident.
How to configure this? Brokers can navigate to the groups Products Page > Click on the Set Enrollment sequence > And change the order of the Plan type/Sub-type according to your preferences by dragging the 6 dots on the left up/down.
See below Flock product illustration of the plan type/sub-type re-ordering:
Users can now view their current enrollments while editing their new benefits within the enrollment flow. These assist employees make better benefits decisions allowing them to compare what they have now to what they are about to elect. Furthermore, Admins can now easily identify any unexpected changes and quickly take corrective action before approving Life Event changes.
Where can employees see this? Click on the blue icon on the bottom right corner of the screen and get a snapshot of your current active benefits.
See below Flock product illustration:
Flock now allows you to automatically create a task to be assigned to an employee to remind them to fill out an EOI when they elect over the GI. Admins will be better able to track which employees still have outstanding EOI through Flock’s tasking system. Additionally, once a pending amount is approved, the admin will be given the opportunity to close the task from the benefit summary window.
Prior to this release, Admins did not have the ability to customize the email sent to new hire candidates prior to signing their offer letter. With this new release, you can now customize the text and formatting of the email in the “Create Offer Letter” flow.
How to configure this? HR Admins can either edit the email for each new hire in the create offer letter flow, or navigate to your company settings > Employee Life Cycle > New Hire > Click on Edit Email to customize the offer letter email according to your preferences for all the on-going future offer letter emails.
See below Flock product screenshot for editing the Offer Letter email in the Create Offer letter flow:

With this new Flock release and the open enrollment season just around - renewing plans just got better! Just a few click and you are all set!
See below Flock product screenshot:
How to configure this? Brokers can click on the drop down next to New Plan > Renew/Import > You get an option to choose from existing plans or from plans in one of the other broker client > Set the Start and End Date > Check/Uncheck the required fields > Review and Submit.
See below Flock product illustration of the new plan renewal feature:
Brokers in Flock can now switch to the HRIS/Admin side just with one single click!
Note: Click on the blue person icon next to your company name to switch to the HRIS/Admin side of that particular group, its that simple now!
See below Flock product illustration:
Flock now supports uploading employee information based on SSN as the family identifier. Prior to this release either email or the employee username was used as the family identifier. Uploading demographic or benefits enrollment data got a lot easier since SSN information is readily available in reports gathered from existing carrier systems. Getting started with using Flock got even easier.
Brokers can now bundle Voluntary/Supplemental plans with Medical, Dental and Vision plans. This is helpful, for example, when bundling a Gap plan to Medical.
How to configure this? Brokers can navigate to the Product Bundles Tab > Click on the New Bundle > Add a new name, select the base plan type and plan > Create the bundle > Add dependent plans and you are all set!
With the new release, there is support added for benefits where only dependents can enroll in supplemental plans. At configuration time, users have a choice to give the option for the employee to waive the plan or keep them ineligible to enroll. This can also be used when there is a Group benefit that an employee is auto-enrolled in and covered by employer. Dependents are eligible to enroll as well at an additional cost.
Now you can add GI logic to the system for non-linear plan amounts, such as is often seen in issue age plans. This will allow a broker to create the GI logic to increase volume up a tier to a non-standard amount.
